Euro Star Tickets

Eurostar Tickets

How lucky are we? We have been donated two sets of 2 Eurostar tickets for return travel to Paris or Brussels. Samaritans Purse rules prevent us from having a raffle or tombola so we have decided to have a silent auction.

How does this work?
Well, if you want a chance to get these tickets, you need to make a bid. Forms will be available for you to do this. It's done in private so no one knows what your particular bid is. There will be a bid box where you can post your bid. There will be an information sheet  to read which will take you through the process of making your bid. From tomorrow (Saturday) all this will available.

The normal ticket price is from £69 per ticket. The lowest bid we will accept for 2 tickets is £60.

One of the most important things to remember when making your bid is that you need to put in a unique bid, for example don't bid a round figure but add a few odd pence so only you will have that amount.

A Good Week

Recapping on this last week, all our volunteers have worked very hard, from the setting up, training and running the operation to all of you who have turned up for maybe an hour or all week. Our thanks go out to you and you helped achieve over 2500 boxes checked and packed away into cartons ready to go off to Kyrgyzstan.
It has been a little quiet this week and twice we have closed the warehouse early due to the lack of boxes. However, more collections are due to take place next week as schools will be more geared up and ready for us.
As usual we have found some wonderful examples of people sharing and sending their love to a child they may never meet in the form of gifts, cards and letters, like this one here

Still Our Youngest Volunteer
Remember Poppy from last year? She was our youngest volunteer EVER and she very kindly brought in a shoebox
filled with beautiful gifts. Well, she's back and has increased her donation by 100%. Poppy brought along her friend, Ivy. Poppy had told her all about shoeboxes and the joy they bring so Ivy wanted to come along too.  The best news is that both Poppy's and Ivy's mums are expecting again so next year we feel confident that Poppy will increase her shoebox quantity by a further 100%.

  1. So cute, you two little volunteers. We're experiencing a slow flow of boxes too in Maidenhead, but like you, hoping the pace will quicken next week.
