Preparing for the Set Up

WAS GARDENING PART OF THE DEAL?
No, not normally, but needs must. Midleton Road hasn't been used for a while so some budlia plants have taken residence around the building and especially around the steps of the front door. So they had to be trimmed. Thanks Michael.

THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS

First time through the front doors, how exciting, until it comes to turning on the electricity and water supply, this is all new to us and a huge learning curve. Life is full of challenges and we have one here, don't worry it will get sorted and tea/coffee will be served as usual.

INTO OUR OUR FOYER

It looks a sad and lonely place, it's raining, it's dark, empty and unwelcoming. …… enter Marianne! As soon as she walked through those front doors, stepping over that budlia of course, she gave a gasp of delight and excitement. "I'm really looking forward to transforming this foyer" she said. And she has, just wait until you see it now… you will feel welcome. Thanks Marianne.

STARTING TO GET READY

Like the foyer the warehouse area is very large and empty. We are in the process of transforming this huge area into a welcoming and happy working environment, where 1000's of shoeboxes will be processed.
Look closely you will see the first few boxes looking rather lost at the moment.

But wait….. it wasn't long before our first delivery arrived…. A few collections took place today, however Heather was first, Well done and thanks Heather.

Stephen and Eleanor did some collections and a van was out and about in Guildford so we have quite a pile ready for all those volunteers itching to get going. Within a few days this place will be buzzing.
