ALL READY TO GO
Well almost! All the team have worked extremely hard, they've had to clean a warehouse that has not been used in nearly two years, imagine the dust and cobwebs. Then there are the tables and chairs to collect, put up and arrange as well as placing all the things our volunteers need on them. There's all the fillers to sort, training room to organise and the foyer to be made a welcoming place. Tables to put the checked shoeboxes onto and the cartons ready to fill. Rest area to prepare and the sales table up and ready. The "well almost" was about the water and electrics, we do still have a problem there! For example no water and only some electricity, but we are getting over it….. so watch this space.
SCHOOLS LOVE TO DO SHOEBOXES
We could not get the numbers of shoeboxes we do get without the numerous teachers and parents who give an undertaking to do shoeboxes. It's hard work on top of an already busy programme. One of the best roles of the presenters is to be able to go and meet the teachers and children. Presentations really help to encourage children to make a shoebox and encourages the teachers to do shoeboxes year after year. Unfortunately we don't often get a photograph but Annabel Stocchetti from Heather Ridge Infant School in Camberley shared this photograph with us. They were very proud to have their highest ever number of boxes.
WHAT MISSING?
Besides the water and some of the electrics of course…….. Something that's been with us each year for a while……something that helps us raise quite a bit of money…… have you guessed yet? I'm sure you have but if not… it's Ted.
Ted has once again been donated to us by The Bear Garden in Guildford and if you have not been there it's a fantastic place to visit especially leading up to Christmas. They are at
10 Jeffries Passage GU1 4AP

find them on Facebook.
Marianne took possession of Ted this afternoon and once again the name is a mystery but you can try and pick it from our long list, Pick the correct name and you will have the honour of knowing that the name you picked will travel with the bear to Kyrgyzstan to be given to a child or to a group of children.
Last year, our bear, William travelled out with Jenny who gave him to a Children's Hospital, all the children there suffered with T.B.
